What actually happens when you use an AI feature in Palarid.
Last reviewed: July 2026
We do not claim Palarid's AI is local, offline or private.
It is not. When you use an AI feature, your prompt travels over the internet to a third-party
provider. Any product telling you otherwise about browser-based AI of this kind is misleading you.
What is sent
The text you type into the Co-Pilot or an AI-assisted tool.
A short instruction describing the task (for example, "summarise this").
Only the context you have explicitly approved — Palarid does not silently attach your notes,
finances or health logs.
What is never sent
Your stored tasks, goals, habits, journal entries or documents — unless you attach them yourself.
Your net worth, budgets, or any figure entered into a calculator.
Your health, sleep, mood or medication logs.
Any identifier linking a request to you — there is no account.

Each provider processes your request under their terms and retention policy. Palarid has
no control over how long they keep a prompt. If a request is sensitive, do not send it.
Your own API key
A key you paste into Palarid is stored in your browser's localStorage.
It is not encrypted. Anything with access to that device or browser profile can read it,
and any usage billed to that key is your responsibility. Never enter a key on a shared or public
computer. Palarid sends your key only to the provider you selected — never to us, and never in a URL.
Turning AI off entirely
Every AI feature is optional. All 500+ calculators, trackers, planners and notes work without
touching an AI provider, and work with no internet connection at all. If you never open the
Co-Pilot, nothing you write ever leaves your device.
What we will not do
We will not send your personal data to an AI provider without you choosing to.
We will not train any model on your content.
We will not log your prompts on our own infrastructure — there is none.
We will not describe an externally hosted model as "on-device".
