Palarid holds people's money, health and personal notes. This page explains exactly what happens to that information — in plain English, without marketing language.
Last reviewed: July 2026 · Applies to Palarid v3.3
Palarid is a local-first application. When you add a task, log a spend or write a note, that
information is written to storage inside your own browser — localStorage and
IndexedDB — on the device you are using. It is not transmitted to us, because there
is no account system and no database holding user records.
Two practical consequences follow, and both matter:
What each part of Palarid does with information you enter.
| Feature | What you enter | Processed | Stored | Sent to |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tasks, goals, habits, notes | Text you type | LOCAL | Your browser | Nobody |
| Money tools, net worth, budgets | Amounts, categories | LOCAL | Your browser | Nobody |
| Calculators (mortgage, pension, tax) | Figures | LOCAL | Only if you save | Nobody |
| Health and wellbeing logs | Sleep, mood, weight | LOCAL | Your browser | Nobody |
| Journal and documents | Free text | LOCAL | Your browser | Nobody |
| Co-Pilot / AI features | The prompt you write, plus context you approve | EXTERNAL | Conversation kept locally | The AI provider in use |
| Weather | Approximate location | LIVE | Not stored by us | Weather API |
| Maps and Earth explorer | Places you search | LIVE | Not stored by us | Map tile + geocoding providers |
| Market and world data | Nothing personal | LIVE | Cached briefly | Public data APIs |
| Waitlist form | Your email, if you choose | EXTERNAL | Netlify Forms | Netlify |
Palarid's AI features are not local. We will not describe them as offline or on-device, because that would be untrue. When you use the Co-Pilot or any AI-assisted tool:
Everything else in Palarid — every calculator, tracker, planner and note — runs entirely in your browser and sends nothing.
A key you paste into Palarid is stored in your browser's local storage. It is not encrypted, it is readable by anything with access to that device or browser profile, and any usage billed to it is your responsibility. Do not enter a key on a shared or public computer. Palarid never sends your key anywhere except the provider you selected.
Where Palarid shows external information it labels the state honestly:
When a feed fails, Palarid says so. It does not substitute an invented figure. We previously found and removed a hard-coded price that was displayed when the live feed failed — that was a defect, and it is fixed.
Things we could claim but will not:
Privacy · Your rights & the ICO · Your data (UK GDPR) · Cookies · Terms · Accessibility
Palarid is provided free. There is no subscription and no payment is collected today. If paid capabilities are introduced, they will be announced clearly and will never remove access to data you have already created.
