This statement covers palarid.com. We want Palarid to be usable by as many people as possible,
and this page says plainly where it currently succeeds and where it does not.
We do not currently claim WCAG 2.2 AA conformance.
An audit found real failures that are not yet fixed. Listing them is
more useful than a conformance badge we cannot stand behind. This page will be updated as each
is resolved.
What works
Every interactive control has a visible focus outline when navigating by keyboard.
A "skip to content" link is the first thing a keyboard user reaches.
Body text and form controls meet AA contrast in both light and dark themes.
Text resizes to 200% without loss of content.
Animation is reduced automatically when your system asks for reduced motion.
Touch targets are at least 44px on phones and tablets.
Form fields have programmatic labels.
The app follows your system's light or dark preference.
Known failures, being worked on
Results are not announced. Calculator outputs, AI responses and error messages update
silently, so screen-reader users are not told when a result appears. This is a WCAG 4.1.3
failure and is the highest priority.
The active navigation item is not announced as selected or current.
Some card grids are clickable but not focusable — they respond to a mouse but cannot
be reached or activated by keyboard. The Periodic Table and UK Monarchs pages are the worst
affected.
Heading structure is flat. Most pages use a single heading level, so navigating by
headings is not useful.
The page header and footer are not marked up as landmarks.
A number of inputs still lack labels, and a few icon-only buttons have no accessible
name.
Some live figures in the header (clock, market price, ISS position) update without a
text alternative.
Printing produces light text on white paper because the print stylesheet is
incomplete.
Games rendered on canvas — Snake, Pong, Breakout and similar — are not usable without
sight, and several can only be started by clicking the canvas rather than a button.

How this was assessed
By self-assessment: automated checks across all tool panes, plus manual keyboard and zoom
testing. It has not been independently audited. Where a figure above is a count, it came from
inspecting the rendered application rather than from an estimate.
