About Palarid

A private workspace for the ordinary admin of being a person — your day, your money, your habits, your notes — where the data stays on your own device.

Why it exists

Most of the software that helps you organise your life does it by taking custody of your life. You hand over your spending, your sleep, your weight, your worries, and in return you get a dashboard — and a company that now holds a detailed record of you, sells or analyses it, changes its terms, gets acquired, or gets breached.

That trade never made sense for the mundane stuff. Working out whether you can afford a house, tracking whether you actually slept, keeping a list of what needs doing this week — none of it requires a server. It runs perfectly well in a browser tab. So Palarid does it there.

What it actually is

Palarid is one web application containing more than a hundred practical tools — calculators, planners, trackers, writing tools, reference material — organised into seven areas: Today, Life, Money, Health, Create, Learn and Explore. In September 2026 we retired almost three hundred tools that did not earn their place, so that the ones that matter are easy to find. There is no account. You open it and it works.

Everything you enter is written to storage inside your own browser. We have no database of users, because there are no user records to keep.

Who it is for

What Palarid will not do

Being straight about what this is

Palarid is a small independent project, not a large company. There is no office, no support desk and no venture funding. Saying otherwise would be easy and would be untrue.

Some consequences you should know: response times are slower than a funded company's; there is no multi-device sync yet; and because your data lives only in your browser, clearing your browser data will delete it. Export a backup from time to time. We would rather tell you that plainly than let you discover it the hard way.

How it is funded

Palarid is free, and the core will stay free. Nothing is charged today and no payment is collected. The intended future model is a paid tier for the things local-only storage genuinely cannot do — encrypted sync across devices, backup, and higher AI limits — because those cost real money to run. Everything that works today will keep working without paying.

If and when that arrives, it will be announced clearly. There will be no countdown timers, no artificial scarcity and no "limited time" pricing.

Where to look next

Trust Centre — what happens to your data, in a full data map.
AI processing — exactly what leaves your device, and when.
Security — including the gaps we have not closed yet.
