Redundancy pay calculator
Your statutory redundancy pay from your age, full years of service and weekly pay — the legal minimum your employer must pay.
Quick answer. Statutory redundancy pay is half a week's pay for each full year you worked under 22, one week's pay for each full year aged 22 to 40, and one and a half weeks' pay for each full year aged 41 or over. Service is capped at 20 years and weekly pay at £751, so the most anyone can get is £22,530.

How it is worked out
Count back from the date you are made redundant, one full year at a time, for up to 20 years. Each year is worth half a week's pay if you were under 22 during it, a week's pay if you were 22 to 40, and one and a half weeks' pay if you were 41 or older. Multiply the total by your weekly pay, capped at £751.
Example: aged 45 with 10 full years and weekly pay of £900. The four most recent years were at ages 41 to 44, worth 1.5 weeks each (6 weeks); the six before were at 35 to 40, worth a week each (6 weeks). That is 12 weeks at the £751 cap: £9,012.
Who gets it
You normally qualify if you are an employee and have worked for your employer for 2 years or more. You lose the right if you unreasonably turn down an offer to keep you on or of suitable alternative work, and dismissal for misconduct is not redundancy. Your weekly pay is your average over the 12 weeks before you got your redundancy notice.
Your contract may pay more
This is the legal minimum. Many employers pay enhanced redundancy under the contract or a policy — check yours. Notice pay, holiday pay you have built up and unpaid wages are owed on top of redundancy pay, and are taxed as normal pay. Statutory redundancy pay under £30,000 is not taxable. You have 6 months from the date your job ends to claim it.
