Common questions
What return should I assume?
A real return of 4–5% is a common planning assumption for a diversified portfolio. Lower is more conservative.
Does it include the State Pension?
It adds the full new State Pension for 2026/27 (£241.30 a week) in today’s money. Your own amount depends on your National Insurance record — check your forecast at gov.uk/check-state-pension.
